QbD Group is a partner in **ATMP XB**, an EU co-funded project dedicated to strengthening the Flemish-Dutch border region as a leading hub for advanced therapy medicinal products. Through cross-border collaboration between universities, hospitals and industry partners, ATMP XB works to bring innovative cell and gene therapies to patients faster and more safely.

Background

## What are ATMPs?

Advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) include cell therapies, gene therapies and tissue-engineered products. These therapies use living cells or genetically modified material to treat severe or currently incurable diseases, including certain cancers, rare genetic disorders and chronic inflammatory conditions. They represent one of the most promising frontiers in modern medicine.

ATMP XB brings together educational institutions, hospitals and life sciences companies across the Flemish-Dutch border region to tackle the key challenges standing between ATMP innovation and patient access. As a life sciences consultancy with deep expertise in regulatory affairs, quality assurance and qualification and validation, QbD Group contributes to the project's mission of building a reliable, compliant and scalable ATMP ecosystem in the region.

## A European initiative

ATMP XB is co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg Vlaanderen-Nederland programme, which supports cross-border collaboration between Flanders and the Netherlands. The project is part of the "A Smarter Europe" theme, focused on innovation and skills for smart transformation.
