Introduction Acceptance Sampling

Duration

Half a day

Why this topic?

The quality of an inspection lot is often evaluated by means of a sample survey during an IPC or – in case of doubt – by re-examination. The inspection lot is compared to predefined specifications or requirements. This enables a quality inspector or auditor to decide whether to accept or reject certain products. Acceptance sampling – a statistical technique based on the ISO regulations 2858 and 3951 – is an important part of quality control and an accurate method to guarantee quality of products without enormous testing costs.

What can you expect during the training?

  • Learn how large a sample survey has to be.
  • Discover how to minimise the risk of erroneously approving or disapproving an inspection lot.
  • Learn the ins and outs of important definitions like AQL and UQL.
  • Learn how to use a theory of probability to accept or reject incoming or outgoing products.

What is the result in your daily work?

For companies, it is important to be able to evaluate a set of goods in a less expensive and fast manner to guarantee optimal quality and safety of products.

Afterwards

Participants are able to conduct the inspection of goods in a practical, justified and cost efficient way.

For whom?

Quality employees working in the pharmaceutical sector, the cosmetics industry, the food industry or related sectors. People responsible for creating purchasing specifications and related defect tolerances.
