Echoes from a QbD training: the power of Lean

Specialised trainings are one way in which we keep investing in the expertise of our QbD team. Three QbD colleagues share their views on the ‘High 5 Lean experience’ training.

Lean: a hands-on training

Lean is more than a toolkit. It is a method to continuously improve your organization. Lean also requires leadership skills and a cooperative attitude. That’s why the ‘High 5 Lean experience training’ by Triodin is hands-on. Teams are briefed on a real production task they need to optimise. Working together they put the 5-step Lean methodology into practice.

Here are some thoughts and comments from 3 QBD colleagues who followed the one-day programme.

“I liked the interactivity of the training.”

“The best part was the workshop. As a group we had to run a small company and make it ‘leaner’. It was quite confronting: what looked like a simple task proved to be quite a challenge. We had the know-how, but the implementation was difficult because communication didn’t run as smoothly as expected.”
Jolan Boogaerts, Validation Engineer

“A great introduction to the concept of Lean.”

“My takeaways from the training? We learned to operate with minimal stock quantities. The PULL-principle proved an interesting insight. What I also picked up were methods to reduce waste and errors. I certainly can recommend this training to get acquainted with the Lean method.”
Siemon Eelen, Lead PE Analytical Tech Transfer NPI

“Short theory, great practice.”

“The short theory session was followed by a big main course of practice. It allowed us to apply the Lean principles hands-on. This taught me that the Lean approach is very demanding for a team. Members need to be open to change. Working together in a constructive way is key. Production people especially need to be involved from the very start.”
Marijke Vandebroek, Pharmaceutical Project Engineer

The QbD training offer

QbD invests in the expertise and skills of our team wholeheartedly. Specialised trainings are an important lever both for job satisfaction and customer delight. Here’s what one of our colleagues, Marijke, has to say about it:

“QbD’s extensive offer comprises both external and internal trainings. I particularly like the in-house trainings, developed by colleagues. It’s nice to learn from their direct experiences and apply their insights on the job. QbD also takes great care of soft skill development by experienced external trainers.”
Marijke Vandebroek, Pharmaceutical Project Engineer
